Daring Sledgehammer Heist at Shepherd’s Bush Jewellers

Thieves Smash In, Speed Off on Mopeds
Officers arrived within three minutes after reports that several men were using tools – including a sledgehammer – to break in. While police caught one suspect trying to escape on a moped, other gang members sped away and remain on the run.
The crooks are believed to have stolen high-value jewellery. When officers tried to stop them, one man threatened police with a hammer, but thankfully no one was hurt.
Police Praise Quick Response, Plead for Public Help
Detective Supt Alex Bingley said: “Thanks to our rapid response, officers interrupted the thieves just minutes after the raid began. I want to commend the officers who faced threats from a weapon but stayed calm and professional.
Crimes like this cause real alarm to local businesses and residents. We’re working hard to identify and catch all those involved. Anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage must come forward.”
