Chip Pan Fire Hits Historic Titchfield Mill Pub

Firefighters from Portchester, Fareham Hightown, and Southsea rushed to a blaze at The Mill pub in Titchfield this morning. The call came just after 9am, with crews tackling a fire sparked by a deep fat fryer in the kitchen.

Quick Action Prevents Major Damage

Watch Manager Ian Cambridge from Fareham station praised the team’s swift response. The chip pan fire was quickly extinguished,” he said. “Thanks to our fast intervention, the damage was contained to the kitchen.”

Historic Pub Escapes Unscathed

Mr Cambridge added: “It was isolated to the kitchen on the range. The rest of the pub was fine.” Fire crews wrapped up operations by 10am, leaving the beloved venue mostly unscathed.

The Mill, a former water mill dating back to 1779, was converted into an inn in 1939 and remains a local landmark today.
