Three men remain missing following a partial building collapse at Didcot A Power Station. Over the weekend, a multi-agency rescue operation continued amid hazardous and unstable conditions to locate and recover the missing workers.

Firefighters, Thames Valley Police, structural engineers, demolition experts, and the army are all involved in the complex recovery mission. The damaged structure remains unstable, which has made the operation slow and risky.

Deputy Chief Fire Officer Nathan Travis said: “The site remains extremely unstable and safety is our top priority. We’re working closely with structural experts and expect this will be a prolonged, difficult exercise.”

He added: “Our priority is to recover those missing and return them to their families. We offer our deepest sympathies to the family of the man who died and continue to keep the others in our thoughts.”

Local residents near the site have been advised to keep windows and doors shut to avoid dust exposure in case the rubble shifts further. Officials have reassured the public that no hazardous materials were present in the building.

Thames Valley Police Assistant Chief Constable Scott Chilton expressed his sympathy for the families affected. “We cannot imagine what this must be like for them. Police are doing all they can to recover their loved ones and support the families at this terrible time.”

South Central Ambulance Service remains on site, ready to respond to any casualties recovered by the rescue teams.
