Police Chase Ends in Horror Crash
Just after 4pm on Thursday, 12 February 2026, Kent officers spotted a grey Vauxhall Zafira in Chestnut Street, Sittingbourne. When police ordered the driver to stop, he slammed the accelerator instead – sparking a high-speed pursuit through Borden.
The chase screeched to a halt on Homewood Avenue at 4.05pm when the car crashed violently into a tree. Police quickly arrested the 29-year-old suspect, who now faces charges of dangerous driving and drug possession.
Two Children Seriously Injured
Tragically, two child passengers inside the vehicle suffered serious injuries. Both are currently in hospital receiving urgent treatment. Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is leading the probe into the smash.
