Essex Police have taken action after 81 air weapons were stolen from a parked lorry in Basildon. The theft occurred overnight between Thursday, 19 and Friday, 20 February, targeting a vehicle on Paycocke Road.

Basildon CID promptly launched an investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible for the large-scale theft.

In the early hours following the incident, officers conducted simultaneous raids in Aveley. Three local men in their 30s were arrested on suspicion of theft and are currently in custody for questioning.

During the searches, police recovered 12 air weapons and are verifying whether these are part of the stolen items.

The investigation remains ongoing as officers continue to search for the remaining stolen air weapons. Authorities are urging anyone with information or anyone who has been offered similar weapons to come forward immediately.
