Kent Police have locked down a road in Greenhithe following reports of a firearm at a property in the Cobham Close area off Bean Road. Armed officers quickly responded to the incident, sealing off the road as the situation developed.

The emergency call was received at 11:40am on Friday, May 25, 2018. Police arrived at a property within Cobham Close after receiving reports of a man with a firearm. A distressed man was taken to hospital as a precaution while officers conducted a thorough search of the premises.

After searching the property, police found that the firearm was an imitation gun, not a real weapon. A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 11.41am on Friday May 25, 2018 to a report of a distressed man inside a property in 1 Terrace, Greenhithe. Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and a man was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.”
