Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Car Park Horror in Whalebone Lane South
Fatal Collision Sparks Murder Inquiry
Police were scrambled to a car park on Whalebone Lane South at 11.43pm on Sunday, 13 September following reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian. Emergency teams found a 47-year-old man seriously injured at the scene. Tragically, he died shortly after despite efforts to save him.
Driver Flees the Scene
Early investigations reveal the victim was deliberately hit by a vehicle that sped off, leaving the man fatally wounded. Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are now leading the probe, treating the case as a suspected murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Wrigley said: “We believe the victim was deliberately harmed and we are treating this incident as a murder inquiry. We need to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious.”
