The Metropolitan Police were alerted to a stabbing incident in York Mews, Ilford, at 5.24pm today (September 12) by the London Ambulance Service.

Upon arrival, officers found a man who had been stabbed. He has since been taken to hospital and is reported to be in a stable condition.

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and is currently in custody as enquiries continue.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 17.24hrs on Friday, 12 September, to reports that a man had been stabbed on York Mews, Ilford. He was taken to hospital in a stable condition.”
