Emergency crews rushed to england/southend-england/”>southend/”>Southend Lane at 6:40pm on Saturday, September 20, after a serious collision.
A 25-year-old moped rider suffered critical injuries and sadly died at the scene.
Driver Arrested Over Deadly Crash
The driver, a 52-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving while under the influence of drink or drugs. He remains in police custody.
Police Launch Urgent Witness Appeal
Specialist officers have informed the rider’s next of kin and are offering support.
Detectives are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward. Call police on 101 with reference 5934/20SEP.
