A BMW driver has been jailed for three years after causing a Collision which left a woman and two children with multiple fractures requiring surgery. Gospodin Hristov, 34, of Witham Street, Boston, pleaded guilty to three offences of causing serious injury by dangerous driving following the crash on October 28, 2024. At around 9.20am, Hristov was driving a BMW 118D from Saxilby towards Harby along Station Road. At the same time, a Nissan Qashqai Tekna was travelling along the B1190 Saxilby Road towards the A57. Police said Hristov failed to give way when he reached the junction with Tom Otter’s Lane and Saxilby Road and collided with the Nissan. The Qashqai’s 43-year-old driver and her two passengers, aged 12 and 15, suffered multiple fractures. All three required extensive hospital treatment and underwent surgery for their injuries. Police said the junction is preceded by several clearly visible warning signs and that motorists approaching it do not have an advance view of the priority road. Hristov was sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court to three years in prison for the three dangerous driving offences. He was also disqualified from driving for three years and three months and will have to pass an extended driving test before being permitted to drive again.
