Mastazher Hussain, 32, from Banbury, has been sentenced to 28 months in prison after being caught carrying a kitchen knife inside Banbury Police Station. The sentencing took place at Oxford Crown Court on December 5.

In addition to the knife possession charge, Hussain breached a suspended sentence order issued in May. The suspended sentence was originally related to a violent assault on a woman in Banbury in August 2021. This breach resulted in additional jail time being imposed.

The total sentence handed down includes 8 months for possession of the knife and 20 months consecutive for breaching the suspended sentence. The court also ordered the immediate destruction of the kitchen knife involved in the offence.
