PC James Brown, a serving officer with the Metropolitan Police Taskforce, is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 9 March 2025. He has been charged with one count of rape.

The alleged incident is reported to have taken place on 30 January 2025 while PC Brown was off duty in Southwark.

Following an investigation, Brown was arrested on 2 April 2025. He was released on bail pending further inquiries.

On 5 February 2025, he was officially charged with rape and was immediately suspended from duty. The case is currently being handled by the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards.
