A man was fatally struck by a car this morning on Brixton Road, near the busy Acre Lane and Coldharbour Lane junction.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene at 9:37 a.m., but sadly the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the spot. Authorities have not yet released any details about the victim.
Brixton Road remains closed in both directions while police investigate the fatal collision. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed that inquiries are ongoing.
A welfare centre has been set up at Lambeth Town Hall & Civic Centre, right beside the crash site, to support anyone affected by the tragedy. Police urge people who have any footage or images of the incident to refrain from sharing them online.
