A 20-year-old man has been charged over the brutal stabbing death of 17-year-old Jodie Chesney in Harold Hill.
Police were called to a park near St Neot’s Road at 9:25pm on Friday, 1 March, after ambulance services reported a stabbing. Officers found Jodie Chesney with a fatal stab wound. She was pronounced dead at 10:26pm that same night.
Manuel Petrovic, from Highfield Road, Romford, was arrested in Leicester on Tuesday, 6 March. He has been charged with murder and appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 9 March. Petrovic was remanded in custody and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday, 11 March.
Another man was arrested in London on Friday, 8 March, and remains in police custody on suspicion of murder. The Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC) is leading the investigation.
