An emergency incident has caused significant disruption to train services between Bournemouth and Brockenhurst tonight. All rail lines remain blocked, resulting in several trains being stranded in the affected area.

Passengers are facing delays and cancellations as emergency crews work to manage the situation. In response to the disruption, special bus replacement services from Southampton have been arranged to assist stranded travellers. Additionally, other train services are operating on altered routes while authorities handle the incident.

The tragic event occurred when a 16-year-old girl from Christchurch was struck by a train after reportedly jumping onto the tracks near Pokesdown station. A spokesman for British Transport Police stated: “At 8.44pm officers were called to Pokesdown station after reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended. Sadly, the girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family have been informed.”

The rail line is expected to remain closed for the remainder of the evening as police continue their investigations into the incident.
