A violent brawl beneath the railway bridge on Caversham Road in Reading left one man injured on Tuesday afternoon. The fight, believed to involve two homeless men, broke out just outside Bowl Central Reading, alarming passersby and customers.

From inside the bowling alley, staff member Tia noticed the commotion. As a trained first aider, she quickly rushed outside and provided essential first aid to the injured man, stabilising him until emergency services arrived on the scene.

The venue’s manager praised Tia’s bravery, saying, “She was fantastic. Her instincts kicked in – she jumped to the rescue of someone in need. We think it’s admirable she acted when others might have been too afraid.” The manager also emphasised the importance of supporting the local community, especially during incidents like this.

Thames Valley Police have cordoned off the area near Pure Gym as they continue their investigation into the violent incident. Multiple police units and an ambulance responded promptly to the scene. A spokesperson from South Central Ambulance Service declined to comment on individual incidents.

Updates will follow as this developing story about the Reading brawl progresses.
