Emergency services rushed to Onslow Road, Southampton, shortly after 11am today following a serious incident involving a man who fell from a window. The man sustained significant injuries, prompting an urgent rescue response.

Two fire crews from St Mary’s Fire Station responded swiftly, deploying an aerial ladder to reach the injured individual. Firefighters removed a grating near Eve Hairdressers to facilitate the rescue. The road was closed in both directions as police and fire crews coordinated to safely extend the ladder boom.

At the scene, the man was carefully immobilised on a spinal board to prevent further injury. A rapid response paramedic administered emergency treatment before the victim was transported by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital for further care.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue stated: “We dispatched one fire appliance and an aerial ladder from St Mary’s to support South Central Ambulance Service in this rescue.”

Authorities continue to monitor the situation. Further updates will be provided as the story develops.
