Two lanes of the M27 eastbound in Hampshire were closed tonight after a multi-car crash caused significant disruption. The incident occurred between Junction 5 Eastleigh Airport and Junction 7 Hedge End.
One vehicle reportedly aquaplaned, skidding off the road and crashing into the central barrier. Emergency crews faced challenging weather conditions while attending to those injured at the scene.
A spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance Service confirmed, “We have sent an ambulance and rapid response paramedic to the scene.”
Traffic is heavily congested as drivers navigate past the crash site. The two lanes are expected to remain closed for at least another hour while clean-up and recovery operations are carried out.
