Chaos unfolded on the M27 late Wednesday when a blue Mercedes Sprinter minibus flipped near Fareham. The incident occurred just before 11pm on the westbound carriageway close to Junction 11.

The converted Sprinter rolled over, blocking three of the four lanes and causing significant disruption. Hampshire Road Policing officers and Highways England promptly closed the affected stretch of the motorway to manage the situation.

Fire crews from Fareham arrived at the scene but did not need to rescue anyone. Firefighters made the area safe by disconnecting an LPG gas bottle used for cooking inside the minibus, preventing any further risk.

Paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service confirmed that no one was trapped and that the injuries sustained were not serious.

Recovery teams from Boarhunt were called in to clear the wreckage and help restore traffic flow. The three lanes near the M27 on-slip remained closed for several hours, causing delays for drivers.

The M27 fully reopened shortly after midnight, but motorists experienced significant delays throughout the evening.
