Emergency services rushed to the A3 near Liss shortly after 5pm on January 8th following a serious crash involving a purple BMW. The vehicle careered off the northbound carriageway and plunged down a steep embankment.

South Central Ambulance Service, Hampshire Fire and Rescue, and police responded quickly to the scene. The Hazardous Area Response Team also joined the rescue operation, arriving with three ambulances and officers.

A specialist support unit was deployed from Cosham to assist in cutting open the vehicle and freeing the three occupants trapped inside.

A spokesperson from South Central Ambulance Service confirmed: “Three people were removed from the vehicle with assistance from emergency teams and taken to hospital.”

One lane of the A3 remains closed as recovery crews work to remove the damaged car. Drivers heading northbound are experiencing heavy delays due to traffic slowing near the crash site, which is close to the steep marshes.
