Two men remain in critical condition following a horror head-on crash between two vehicles on Red Lane, Lightwater, in the early hours of Monday morning, November 13th.

The collision occurred just after 12:30am, prompting an urgent response from Surrey Roads Policing, South East Coast Ambulance Service paramedics, and Surrey Fire and Rescue teams.

Fire crews from Camberley and Woking used specialist cutting equipment to remove the roof of a silver Volkswagen Golf involved in the crash. This vehicle collided head-on with another silver Volkswagen Golf, which was forced off the road and ended up on the verge.

Red Lane was closed in both directions for nearly seven hours while rescue operations were carried out and a thorough collision investigation was conducted by police.

Surrey Police confirmed that both drivers sustained serious injuries. One driver was taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting, while the other was transported to Frimley Park Hospital for treatment.

A Surrey Police spokesperson said, “Two people have been seriously injured following a collision in Lightwater in the early hours today. We urge anyone with information to contact Surrey Police on 101, quoting incident reference P17285921.”
