Chaos erupted on the A21 coastbound just before 6.15pm when a three-vehicle crash occurred between Bewl and Flimwell. Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene following reports of the collision.

The crash resulted in two people walking away with minor injuries, while two others were trapped inside their vehicles. South East Coast Ambulance Service quickly assessed the situation, assisting a woman who was able to walk away unharmed from one of the wrecked cars.

Meanwhile, firefighters acted swiftly to rescue a man believed to be in his late 30s who was trapped inside another vehicle. Using hydraulic cutters, the rescue team freed him and handed him over to the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance for urgent medical treatment.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service deployed two engines to support the rescue operation, and police also arrived to manage the scene amid the chaos. The A21 coastbound remains closed as a full crash investigation is underway, with traffic delays expected to continue for several hours.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service finally cleared the scene just before 8pm after a tense and dramatic rescue operation, allowing traffic to begin moving again.
