Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are investigating the death of a young man after a violent incident in East Malling.

The disturbance occurred on Larkspur Close, where Kent Police responded to reports of an altercation between two acquaintances at 6.54pm on Monday 25 June.

Emergency services, including the South East Coast Ambulance Service, attended the scene promptly. The man in his 20s was taken to hospital but sadly later died from his injuries.

A local man in his 40s was arrested at the property in connection with the incident. He has been bailed to return to custody on 17 July as the investigation continues.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Thursday 28 June to determine the cause of death. Kent Police have also voluntarily referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) to review their handling of the incident.
