Emergency services rushed to Welling Railway Station this afternoon after a man fell between a train and the platform. The incident occurred just after 1:40pm, leading to delays and disruption for commuters travelling through the station.
British Transport Police and paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service quickly arrived at the scene, which was cordoned off by station staff to ensure safety. Despite the frightening fall, the man was unharmed.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “A man had a lucky escape after falling between a train and the platform around 1:40pm this afternoon. He fell into the gap but did not suffer any injuries.”
The incident caused significant disruption to train services into Welling, with passengers experiencing delays as investigations continued. An air ambulance was dispatched as a precaution but was stood down upon arrival.
