A teenage boy remains in serious condition following a brutal assault in Canterbury. The shocking attack took place on Whitefriars Street at around 6pm on Thursday, 6 June 2019.

Kent Police quickly launched a serious crime investigation and called in the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate to conduct a full inquiry. Emergency services, including the South East Coast Ambulance Service and an air ambulance, rushed the victim to hospital with severe injuries.

Six people have been arrested in connection with the incident. They include five teenagers and one adult: a 16-year-old boy from Canterbury, a 16-year-old girl from Canterbury, two 15-year-old boys from Canterbury, a 17-year-old boy from Margate, and a 44-year-old man with no fixed address.

All five teenagers were arrested on suspicion of assault, while the 44-year-old man faces charges of assisting an offender. All suspects have since been released on bail as police continue their inquiries.
