Police investigating a brutal assault on a teenage boy in Canterbury have made a seventh arrest. Officers responded to reports of the attack on Whitefriars Street at around 6pm on Thursday, 6 June 2019.
Emergency services, including the South East Coast Ambulance Service, attended the scene. The seriously injured victim was airlifted to a hospital in London, where he remains in critical condition.
Several arrests have been made as part of the ongoing investigation. These include four teenagers from Canterbury – two aged 16 and two aged 15 – a 17-year-old from Margate, and a 44-year-old man with no fixed address who was arrested for assisting an offender. All were released on bail while inquiries continue.
On the evening of Saturday, 8 June, police arrested another 17-year-old boy who remains in custody.
