Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded swiftly after reports that three children and two men fell from a canoe and became stranded on an island in the Great Stour River near Canterbury.
Two fire engines were dispatched rapidly to the location, where crews successfully pulled all five individuals to safety.
The group showed signs of hypothermia and received immediate treatment from South East Coast Ambulance Service paramedics at the scene.
The rescue operation demonstrated the readiness and effectiveness of Kent Firefighters in responding to river emergencies.
