A serious motorcycle crash has resulted in the complete closure of the A21 in both directions near Battle, East Sussex. The collision occurred between the A28 Baldslow and the A2100 Johns Cross.

Sussex Police are currently investigating the incident with a full Accident Investigation underway. Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service are also attending the scene to provide medical assistance.

Due to the severity of the crash, the A21 remains closed and the closure is expected to last for an extended period. National Highways has confirmed that there is no official diversion route currently in place. Police are directing traffic off the A21 onto local roads to manage the flow of vehicles.

A spokesman for National Highways said: “The A21 in East Sussex is closed in both directions between the A2100 Johns Cross Roundabout and the A28 at Baldslow due to a serious collision. Motorists should allow extra time, consider re-routing or delaying their journeys.”

Travelers are advised to avoid the area where possible and expect significant delays around Battle. It is important to follow police directions and local diversion signs. Checking for updates before setting off is recommended.
