Police were called at 2.33pm on Saturday, 7 January after hospital staff reported a man with a gunshot wound. The victim, believed to be in his 20s, arrived at a north London hospital suffering from a neck injury and is now in critical condition.

At this early stage, police believe the man was shot near Derby Road, N21, in broad daylight. Armed officers attended the scene, but no arrests have been made so far.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the shooting are ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police by calling 101 or tweeting @MetCC with reference CAD 3607/7Jan. Alternatively, tips can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
