Emergency services were called to Waltham Way, Chingford, on Thursday evening, December 5, following a dramatic incident where a tree fell onto a car near the local rugby club at approximately 7:30pm.
A woman was trapped inside her Volvo, prompting a swift and tense rescue operation by firefighters, Metropolitan Police officers, and London Ambulance Service paramedics.
Thanks to the robust safety features of the Volvo, the woman avoided serious injury. Emergency crews worked quickly to free her from the vehicle and secure the surrounding area to ensure public safety.
The trapped driver received treatment at the scene before being transported to hospital for further medical checks. Authorities have confirmed that her injuries are not life-threatening.
