Chaos erupted on the M6 northbound near Stafford as a suspected drink driver ploughed into multiple lorries, causing havoc before finally being stopped and arrested.
Staffordshire’s Road Crime Team sprang into action early this morning after receiving several reports of a vehicle swerving dangerously along the M6. The driver didn’t just swerve — the car collided with several heavy goods vehicles, yet continued driving erratically despite the serious damage caused.
When police finally stopped the vehicle, the driver refused a roadside breath test. Arrested on the spot, they later blew a staggering 56 micrograms of alcohol in custody — well over the legal limit of 35 micrograms.
