Robert Price died after a tragic fire broke out at a home on Oval Road North, Dagenham, on Saturday, 27 July. On 4 August, a 16-year-old boy was charged with the same offences and is due to appear at Barkingside Youth Court on 5 August.

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Clarke stated, “I would like to reassure the community that while the investigation remains ongoing, police are not seeking to identify any further people in connection with the fatal fire on Oval Road North. I also ask that the privacy of Mr Price’s family is respected.”

Authorities are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage. Anyone who was near Oval Road North between 5pm and 6pm on 27 July, or who has relevant dashcam footage, is urged to come forward.
