The M25 motorway in Hertfordshire has been shut in both directions due to a Metropolitan Police-led incident, causing significant disruption for drivers. The clockwise carriageway between Junction 23 (A1M J1/Barnet) and Junction 25 (Waltham Cross) is closed, along with the anti-clockwise side at Junction 25.

Emergency teams, including an air ambulance, are currently at the scene managing the situation.

Diversions Hit Drivers Hard

Clockwise Diversion: Drivers are advised to exit the M25 at Junction 23 and join the A1 towards London. From there, follow the A1 through Stirling Corner, Apex Corner, and Mill Hill Circus to Fiveways Corner. At Fiveways Corner, bear left onto the A1 towards Henlys Corner, then continue on the A406 North Circular Road towards Wood Green. Take the A406 to Great Cambridge Junction, exit onto the A10 towards Hertford, and then rejoin the M25 at Junction 25. Drivers should note a height restriction of 4.7 metres at the A406 Railway Bridge.

Anti-Clockwise Diversion: Traffic must exit and re-enter the M25 at Junction 25 using the slip roads provided.

Delays to Plague Motorists

Motorists are facing severe delays of up to 45 minutes in both directions. Commuters are urged to allow extra travel time, seek alternative routes, or postpone journeys if possible to avoid the affected area.
