Two individuals have been charged with fraud related to the use of bank cards belonging to Gerald Pragnell, a 66-year-old grandfather from the Isle of Wight who was murdered in Southampton.
Gerald Pragnell was found dead off Cemetery Road, near Southampton Common, in early November. His body was discovered on November 3, shortly after his bank cards were reportedly used without authorisation.
Karl Fawcett, 36, of Southampton Street, has been charged with eight counts of fraud by false representation and one count of handling stolen goods. Another suspect, known only as 1 Glen, 32, also of Southampton Street, faces 10 counts of fraud by false representation.
These charges follow an investigation into the fraudulent use of Mr Pragnell’s bank cards after his death on November 1.
Separately, Tommy Scott, 34, of no fixed address, appeared via video link at Winchester Crown Court this week and pleaded guilty to the murder of Mr Pragnell. Scott is due to appear again alongside Fawcett and Glen at Southampton Magistrates Court.
