A crackdown on drug crime in Medway ended with a significant arrest as officers detained 33-year-old Wade Guy from Firethorn Close, Gillingham. During a police raid in April, authorities discovered a block of cocaine weighing 750 grams, digital scales, and a sawn-off shotgun concealed in locked cases behind a kitchen kickboard.

In addition to these items, smaller quantities of drugs, a Cartier watch, and nearly £5,500 in cash were seized from a second property located in Sittingbourne. The cash was hidden behind a mirror at the residence.

Guy was caught inside the Hillyard Close home when the search warrant was executed on 20 April. Although he initially denied any involvement, he later pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court on 20 December 2019 to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of an illegal firearm.

Detective Sergeant Jason Booth from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate commented on the case: “Guy initially denied any involvement with drug dealing or having a dangerous firearm in his possession but our investigation and compelling evidence soon proved otherwise. We will continue to proactively target dangerous offenders like Wade. Drug dealing has no place on our streets and the message is clear – we will track you down and bring you to justice.”

Wade Guy was sentenced to nine years in prison for his crimes, sending a strong warning to would-be criminals in the region.
