A mum and her baby escaped serious injury after a dramatic 40-minute police chase tore through Portsmouth this morning. The pair were hit by a stolen Audi A3 being hotly pursued by Hampshire Police officers.

The adrenaline-fuelled pursuit began when two men swiped a blue Audi A3 hatchback from a local car dealership and failed to return it. The vehicle owner quickly alerted police, who flagged the Audi as stolen and launched the chase.

Police caught up with the suspects just after 1pm on Sudbury Road, Paulsgrove. The two men crashed the Audi alongside a black Peugeot 306. Both have been arrested and now face charges including aggravated TWOC (Taking Without Consent), dangerous driving, no insurance, and theft.

The pair remain in police custody, awaiting questioning by detectives as the investigation continues.
