A 16-year-old boy from Southwick has been found guilty of the murder of 17-year-old Mustafa Momand in a shocking daylight stabbing incident. The fatal attack took place on Queens Road at approximately 5 pm on October 5, 2023.

The juvenile defendant, whose identity is protected by law, was tried at Brighton Crown Court 123. The trial was conducted behind closed doors. Presiding judge Sir Adam Constable confirmed that sentencing is scheduled for Thursday, May 2.

Emergency services responded swiftly after the stabbing. Mustafa was rushed to the Royal Sussex County Hospital by paramedics. Despite desperate efforts to save him, he tragically died from his injuries.

This case serves as a grim reminder of the impact of violence on communities, even during broad daylight.
