The A259 in East Sussex is completely closed in both directions this evening due to a police-led incident. The closure stretches between the A2070 at Brenzett and the A268 at Rye.
Sussex Police are on the scene and working hard to reopen the road as soon as possible. Meanwhile, drivers are warned to expect delays and steer clear of the area.
Complex Diversions Laid Out
Westbound drivers should follow the solid triangle signs. The diversion route takes drivers from Brenzett along the A259 to New Romney, then the B2075 through Lydd, Jury’s Gap Road, and Camber before rejoining the A259 at East Guldeford.
Eastbound traffic is advised to use the hollow diamond diversion symbols, which trace the westbound route backwards.
Plan Ahead or Face Delays
Motorists are advised to plan their trips carefully, allow extra travel time, or opt for alternative routes to avoid getting stuck in traffic delays.
