Police have launched an urgent search for Makayla, a 14-year-old girl who has gone missing from her home in Rotherham. She was last seen at approximately 10:30am on December 16, 2025, in the East Dene area and has not been seen or heard from since.
Makayla is described as white, around 5ft 6ins tall, with long mousey blonde hair. On the day she disappeared, she was wearing black leggings, a black top, a green and black jacket, and a body warmer.
Authorities say Makayla is known to frequent several local hotspots including Rotherham town centre, Eastwood, Clifton Park, and Herringthorpe Playing Fields. These locations are now key areas of focus in the ongoing search.
South Yorkshire Police issued a plea for public assistance, stating, “Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for Makayla’s welfare and want to speak to anybody who has seen her. Have you seen her? Do you know where she might be?”
Anyone with information is urged to contact police by calling 101 and quoting incident 428 from December 16, 2025. Tips can also be reported anonymously online via the South Yorkshire Police portal.
