Police are investigating a brutal attack outside Mikrus Restaurant on Streatham High Road that left a 42-year-old man hospitalised with a serious head injury.

The incident occurred at around 2am on Saturday, 11 July, when officers responded to reports of a violent assault. The victim was found at the scene and quickly taken to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

CID detectives from Walworth are leading the investigation and are urgently seeking help from the public to identify the suspect. A man believed to be responsible for the attack was captured on footage fleeing the scene.

Detective Constable Oliver Honeybun-Arnolda said, “This was a very serious assault which has left a man in hospital with a significant injury. A lone suspect, believed to be a white man, was seen running north along the High Road after the attack. We urge anyone with information or who recognises this man to come forward.”

So far, no arrests have been made. The police continue to follow up on leads as the investigation progresses. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference CA.
