The clip, shared on social media, sharply contrasts with the Green Party’s environmental values and fuel efficiency policies, leading to widespread criticism online.
Khan’s Lamborghini is equipped with a 5.2-litre V10 petrol engine that delivers under 20 miles per gallon. This stands in stark opposition to the Green Party’s stance on restricting fossil-fuelled vehicles and lowering speed limits to improve fuel economy. His social media comments were met with accusations of hypocrisy and questions about his commitment to green policies.
Hanif Alli, leader of Bolton’s Green group, sought to downplay the controversy by stating the video was from a family wedding in 2023 and that the car did not belong to Khan personally.
