Chaos unfolded on Napier Road in Wolverhampton after part of a building collapsed, prompting a significant emergency response. Several roads were closed and nearby homes evacuated as a precaution, but fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
West Midlands Fire Service deployed three fire and rescue crews to the scene following reports of the structural collapse on Napier Road. A spokesperson stated, “We currently have three fire and rescue crews in Napier Road, Wolverhampton, where part of a building has apparently collapsed.”
Properties on nearby Dudley Road were evacuated to ensure residents’ safety while the road remains closed to traffic. Firefighters successfully rescued one man from the rubble, who escaped without serious injuries.
The West Midlands Ambulance Service responded promptly to reports of a fire near Dudley Road at 11:37 AM. Paramedics, officers, and the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) attended the scene. A spokesperson confirmed, “On arrival, there were no patients found and we were stood down.”
Emergency services continue to manage the area with safety as their top priority. Locals are advised to avoid the vicinity until further notice as investigations into the collapse proceed.
