Police were called to the crossroads of Oxford Street and Bernard Street in Fareham at 12.40am on Friday 22 December after reports that a man in his 40s was suffering a cardiac arrest following an altercation.
The victim, who was from Fareham, collapsed after being involved in a brawl. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers quickly arrested two men from Totton, aged 60 and 35, on suspicion of murder. Both remain in police custody as investigations continue.
Police have released CCTV footage showing two men believed to have been in the area during the incident. Authorities are appealing for anyone who recognises these men to come forward as they may hold vital information about the events leading to the victim’s death.
In addition, police are seeking the driver of a grey or silver Nissan Juke seen driving down Bernard Street around the time of the attack. Investigators believe this driver may have witnessed important details related to the incident.
