Hampshire police are investigating a frightening incident in Petersfield where a man chased two teenagers while armed with a firearm. The event took place on The Avenue at around 4.10pm on 7 August.

According to reports, the suspect pursued the teenagers across a field, causing alarm within the local community. The incident has raised concerns about safety in the area.

Authorities have arrested a 34-year-old man from the Petersfield area in connection with the incident. He faces serious charges including attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the chase or any dangerous driving nearby at the time. Anyone with information is urged to contact Hampshire Constabulary on 101, quoting reference number 44180299180.
