Two men have been charged following a robbery in Gillingham’s High Street area in the early hours of Tuesday, 8 September 2020.

A man in his 30s was threatened shortly after withdrawing cash from an ATM at around 2am. During the incident, his companion, a man in his 40s, was also assaulted by one of the suspects.

Following swift action by Kent Police’s Chief Constable’s Crime Squad, suspects Clive Tilly and Dean Martin were arrested. Mr Tilly, 38, from Tobruk Way, Chatham, faces charges of robbery and assault. Mr Martin, 32, from James Street, Gillingham, is charged with robbery.

Both Tilly and Martin have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 10 September 2020.
