West Ham footballer Kurt Zouma is facing an investigation by the RSPCA following the release of disturbing videos showing the France international allegedly abusing two cats. Essex Police are also involved in the ongoing inquiry.

West Ham United have confirmed that the matter is being handled internally as public outrage continues to grow. The club has not released further details but is under increasing pressure to respond swiftly.

The two cats seen in the videos have been removed from Zouma’s care and are now under the protection of the RSPCA. A spokesperson for the animal welfare charity stated, “Our priority is and has always been the wellbeing of these cats.” Both animals have undergone veterinary examinations and will remain in RSPCA custody while the investigation proceeds.

In response to the videos, fans and animal rights activists launched a petition on Change.org demanding that those responsible be prosecuted and that all animals be immediately removed from Zouma’s care. The petition has rapidly gained over 150,000 signatures.

The RSPCA added, “We were dealing with this issue before the video went viral online and are leading the investigation. We continue to investigate and cannot comment further at this time.”

Kurt Zouma has since issued a public apology for his actions. Despite this, the growing public anger has intensified calls for West Ham to take decisive action regarding the situation.
