At around 10 a.m. on June 25, 2022, a man entered a shop on Sittingbourne High Street and tried on a gold chain. Instead of paying for the jewellery, he quickly left the store wearing the gold chain.

Kent Police were alerted to the incident and responded promptly. By 7.50 p.m. that same day, officers arrested a man matching the suspect’s description in Sittingbourne town centre.

The arrested individual, William Brazil, aged 30, from Barrow Grove in Sittingbourne, has been charged with theft. He was subsequently bailed and is scheduled to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on July 28.
