The trial of Marcus Decker and Morgan Trowland begins at Basildon Crown Court at 10:30am on Monday, 27 March. The pair have already spent 158 days in custody on remand after climbing the QEII Bridge in November 2022.

Decker and Trowland are supporters of Just Stop Oil, a campaign group demanding that the UK government halt all approvals for new fossil fuel projects.

On the same day, five activists from Animal Rebellion will appear at Southwark Crown Court at 10:30am. They face charges of criminal damage exceeding £5,000 related to protests held at Buckingham Palace in August 2021.

Both trials are expected to last more than a week, highlighting ongoing activist efforts against fossil fuel development and animal exploitation.
