In the early hours of Saturday, 20 July 2024, Ashford experienced a terrifying knife-wielding raid that shook the local community. Three men broke into a home at around 3am while the victim was asleep on his sofa.
The victim woke to find a man looming over him with a knife, threatening and punching him as two others ransacked the property. Despite being bound and beaten, the victim managed to make a daring escape.
The victim was repeatedly pressed for valuables and had his hands bound with tape. Despite the brutal threats and physical assault, he fought back, broke free, and fled while the attackers were distracted.
The gang fled the scene in the victim’s car, stealing designer clothes, jewellery, cash, and his mobile phone. Their botched raid left the victim shaken and the Ashford community in shock.
Kent Police responded swiftly, arresting four suspects connected to the incident:
- Sukhjeevan Singh, 27, of Gascoyne Road, London
- Luca Gentry-Prosper, 19, of Ash House, London
- Adheem Misson, 20, of Telscombe Cliffs Way, Peacehaven, East Sussex
The fourth man arrested was later cleared and released. All three remaining suspects pleaded guilty at Canterbury Crown Court in December 2025.
On Tuesday 2 December, Luca Gentry-Prosper and Adheem Misson were sentenced to six years in prison. Sukhjeevan Singh avoided immediate imprisonment but received a two-year suspended sentence on Wednesday 3 December.
Justice was served after a night of terror in Ashford, bringing some relief to the victim and the wider community.
