A 31-year-old man has been charged following a stabbing incident involving a woman connected to both Swindon and Salisbury.

Emergency services were called to Pinehurst Road, Swindon, at around 9pm on Saturday, 7 February, after reports of a woman suffering knife wounds. The woman was treated at the scene for a stab wound to her hand.

It was later confirmed that the stabbing actually occurred in Salisbury. The injured woman managed to drag herself back to her home in Swindon before calling for help, highlighting the severity of her situation.

Michael Sheehan, aged 31, of Harnham Road, Salisbury, was arrested by Wiltshire Police in connection with the incident. He has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and controlling and coercive behaviour.

Sheehan was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court on Monday, 9 February. Updates on his remand status will be provided as the case progresses.
